Band Lineup who's playing

KING CREOSOTE & JON HOPKINS

The founder of Fence Records will perform the spellbinding Mercury Award nominated Diamond Mine in full - the first ever performance of the album in Fife, its spiritual home.

KT TUNSTALL

Fellow St Andrews acolyte, and international pop sensation, KT returns to her home town to premiere some new songs, old faves, and collaborate with her Fence Collective chums.

DJANGO DJANGO

Critically adored art-school four piece, whose music is a glorious mix of vintage pop and seductive, synth-built electronic adventures.

JOE GODDARD & ALEXIS TAYLOR (HOT CHIP) DJ SET

Core members of the UK’s biggest electro-pop band, Alexis and Joe will perform an ear-pounding DJ set.

THE PICTISH TRAIL

Local alt-folk wonder - the heart of Fife's Fence Records & electro-sonic wizards Silver Columns - returns with some new songs and a moderately LOUD band in tow.

ERRORS

Glasgow 3 piece on Mogwai's Rock Action label - who take the term post-rock, shove it in a synthesiser, and deliver brain frying toe-tappers. Epic.

DUTCH UNCLES // FRANÇOIS & THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS // WITHERED HAND // CONQUERING ANIMAL SOUND // R.M. HUBBERT // JAMES YORKSTON // SEAMUS FOGARTY // ROZI PLAIN // KID CANAVERAL // RANDOLPH'S LEAP // THE SHUTES // BARBAROSSA // MONOGANON // STANDARD FARE

...and many more to come!

Why Eye O' The Dug? about the name

What's With The Name?

On a map, the county of Fife is shaped like a Scottie dog’s head – with St Andrews being “the eye”, so to speak. The actual term ‘Eye O’ The Dug’ was coined by musicians Lone Pigeon and King Biscuit Time, and was immortalised in a song of the same name. And yes, the song is about St Andrews.

St Andrews

St Andrews was where Fence Records all began, and so it feels right to return there, and have a big knees up, once again. Up until about 10 years ago, the Fence Records shop was located on South Street, stocking all the early Fence albums alongside the new releases of the day. It was a bit of a mecca, with folk travelling all round the country to come up and buy rare Lone Pigeon 7”’s, or King Creosote CD-R’s.
